Adam Sandler is back with an unexpected love interest for his new film "Hustle."
Sandler, co-producer and star of the film, worked amongst some of the greatest including, Queen Latifah and Lebron James. This feel-good sports drama follows the life of “down-on-his-luck” basketball scout, Stanley Sugerman (Sandler), as he discovers an exceptional player (Juancho Hernangómez).
Sandler and Latifah have been off-screen friends for many years, but with this film, they're taking their chemistry to new heights. They're the couple we may have not known we needed, but one thing's for sure-- Sandler did.
“It is definitely the [relationship] I’ve wanted for a long time, she’s denied me many years,” Sandler told Access Hollywood.
He added,
“When it came down to this I said ‘Want to know who would be amazing… Queen Latifah.’ and the director agreed on the great idea, so, I called the Queen and it all happened.”
While on stage at the "Hustle" premiere held at the Regency Village Theatre in Los Angeles, Wednesday, June 1, Sandler gave one last gesture of approval toward the Queen.
“Queen Latifah, being married to you was exceptional,” Sandler said.
In addition to Latifah, Sandler has worked alongside many amazing people, including a variety of NBA players.
Sandler professed at the premiere,
“Getting to make a movie with all these people I admire is something I’ll never forget.”
“Hustle” premieres on Netflix, on June 8.
