In November, fans were left in a tizzy when Priyanka Chopra-Jonas changed her Twitter and Instagram handles from @PriyankaChopraJonas to @PriyankaChopra. The internet was swarmed with rumors about their apparent split, but the couple has recently spoken out to set the record straight.
Chopra shared her feelings in an interview with Vanity Fair, where she told them,
"It's a very vulnerable feeling, actually, that if I post a picture, everything that's behind me in that picture is going to be zoomed in on, and people are going to speculate."
She and Jonas emphasize the need to separate public and private life. Jonas went on to reveal how they deal with the public eye, sharing,
"We both know that public life is something that comes with what we do. But we've set real boundaries around our personal lives, our privacy, and worked really hard to create that little safe haven for ourselves with our friends and family."
Chopra claims to have become more introverted as her career has progressed. She says self care and retreat is the key to staying healthy under such intense scrutiny.
"I'm starting to protect myself a lot more because I realize how much it takes out of you. It takes a part of your soul, constantly trying to make sure that you say the right thing, do the right thing, dress the right way, not make a mistake, not trip because the whole world is going to watch."
The couple vehemently deny rumors of divorce or any sort of split. In fact, they report the opposite--that they're planning for a family. Chopra claims it is a "big part" of their dreams, and that both her and Jonas are ready to take the next step. Both are prepared to slow their careers for the sake of taking care of a child, and excited for what the future holds.
