Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, have received their first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, Clarence House confirmed to PEOPLE.
The 72 and 73-year old's vaccinations come almost a year after Prince Charles contracted the virus back in March of 2020. At the time, Camilla had isolated from the prince at their home, Birkhall, in Scotland.
The couple have been a positive force in the UK amid the pandemic, visiting health care workers and showing their support. Their official Twitter account, @ClarenceHouse, posted a tweet supporting and advertising the test site at Salisbury Cathedral this morning.
The prince came down with COVID-19 early on in the pandemic, showing the fact that anyone can contract the virus.
Camilla shows support for healthcare workers at the Festival of Remembrance at Albert Hall in November.
The two of them are set to receive their second doses of the vaccine in about three months as per U.K. protocol. The type of vaccine and where they received it is unknown.
