NBC has announced P!NK to be the ninth ever recipient of the Billboard Music Awards' Icon Award.

P!NK joins alongside Prince and Janet Jackson with the prestigious honor of BBMA's Icon Award.

P!NK is Now the Ninth Recipient of the Honor

Singer P!NK now joins a distinguished line of Billboard Music Icon Award honorees including Garth Brooks, Cher, Neil Diamond, Celine Dion, Jennifer Lopez, Prince, Stevie Wonder, Janet Jackson and Mariah Carey.

Billboard bestows the honor upon artists who have made waves on the charts, further stating,

"The prestigious ICON Award recognizes outstanding artists who have achieved excellence on the Billboard Charts and have made an indelible mark on music itself."

Becoming P!NK

Born in Pennsylvania, Billboard Magazine's 2013 Woman of the Year made her breakthrough with the debut single "There You Go" (2000) which landed in the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

The eight-time top 10 album making singer feels humbled with the honor stating,

"As a little girl, I always dreamed about being a singer and sharing my love of music with the world. Years later, to receive the Billboard Music Awards Icon Award is hard to fathom! I feel so honored to join the ranks of music idols like Cher, Garth Brooks, Janet Jackson and Stevie Wonder. It's a true 'pinch me' moment and I feel humbled and blessed."

P!NK now has had four Number 1's including "Lady Marmalade" (2001) with Christina Aguilera, Lil' Kim and Mya, "So What'' (2008), "Raise Your Glass" (2010), and "Just Give Me a Reason" (2013) featuring Nate Ruess.
