Based on novels and short stories by Erle Stanley Gardner, Perry Mason is an interesting legal drama set in 1930s Los Angeles.
You might be familiar with the Perry Mason TV series that ran during the 50s and 60s on CBS. The 2020 version differs from the older one in that HBO tells the story of Perry Mason's life as a private investigator prior to becoming the defense attorney shown in the original CBS series.
Fans of this budding drama can now get ready for a second season!
Meant to be a miniseries, Perry Mason garnered 8 million viewers just from its first episode, per HBO. The reason fans love the show could be its incredible acting by Emmy award winner Matthew Rhys, Robert Downey Jr. executing producing, or the noir take on Mason's his broken marriage and alcoholism. Per The Hollywood Reporter, HBO programming executive VP, Francesca Orsi said in a statement:
"Viewers have relished being transported back in time to 1930s Los Angeles each week, and we are thrilled to welcome the show back for a second season.
