November 30th, 2013 was a day that shocked the entirety of Hollywood. Legendary actor and stunt driver Paul Walker tragically passed away in an unexpected driving accident.
Walker began his career in front of the camera at the young age of two while appearing in diaper commercials. He further grew into a child actor with appearances on the soap opera The Young and the Restless. It wasn't until 2001 that the world really got to see the star shine.
Paul Walker rose to fame starring alongside Vin Diesel in the action movie franchise The Fast and the Furious.
In the films, Walker performed death defying stunts which had all been constructed to be safe for the actors. Still, there was always an element of risk. For his role of Brian O'Conner, the actor got behind the wheel and performed many stunt car racing sequences.
On this day in 2013, things went wrong. Roger Rodas was a professional race car driver and friend to Walker. The two were headed home from an event with Rodas behind the wheel when the car crashed into a lamppost along a curve popular for drifting.
Paul Walker was still in production for the seventh Fast & Furious film which then had to be put on hold. After allowing time to mourn and speaking with his family, production for the film resumed. In order to get to completion, changes had to be made to the plot along with some use of CGI and Walker's own brother's appearing as stand ins.
Seven years later, Walker and his impact on Hollywood is still remembered today.
