Despite the show's attempts to portray her as the hero and bring to light the role the media played in her scandal, Anderson reportedly has no interest in reliving those memories. Neither her nor Lee gave their consent to the project before it was greenlit, with a source close to her claiming,
“She’ll never, never watch this. Not even years from now. Not even the trailer.”
Anderson claims she felt "violated" by Pam & Tommy's production. In response to the Hulu series, she's taken to their biggest rival for an original Netflix documentary about her life. The news was announced via the platform's Twitter, with the caption,
“Pamela Anderson is ready to tell her story in a new documentary. The film, which has been in the making for several years, will feature the pop culture icon setting the record straight as she looks back on her professional path and her personal journey.”
Anderson's son, Brandon Thomas Lee, is a producer on the film. He posted the Netflix announcement, along with his brother, Dylan Jagger Lee, with a handwritten note from Anderson that read,
“My life. A thousand imperfections, a million misperceptions…I can only surprise you — not a victim, but a survivor and alive to tell the real story.”
A release date is yet to be announced, but the film promises to "set the record straight" with exclusive archival footage and Anderson's reflection on her life and career.
