Former NBA player Stephen Jackson was a good friend of George Floyd, as they grew up in the same neighborhood and played sports together. Jackson has been a vocal advocate for racial equality and putting an end to police brutality, and he is involved in Gianna Floyd's life. Gianna is the daughter of the late Floyd.

In this clip, Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo hands out water to protesters in Milwaukee. According to Essentially Sports, he talked with protestors about wanting to his children to grow up in Milwaukee and feel safe walking down the street.
Russell Westbrook in LA
Houston Rockets point guard Russell Westbrook lead protestors in Compton, California on June 7th. Westbrook is devoted to promoting racial equality and was joined by Spurs forward DeMar DeRozen along with musician and long standing activist Kendrick Lamar. Westbrook spoke to the crowd before calling a moment of silence.
A-Rod Joins Protest
Former MLB shortstop Alex Rodriguez and fianceé Jennifer Lopez were seen in Los Angeles on Sunday at a Black Lives Matter protest. Rodriguez's sign references Lopez's song "Lets Get Loud" but now it is for promoting racial equality.

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James has used his immense fame to bring Black Lives Matter campaigns to life. He is very active on social media, posting about injustices in his industry, police brutality, and how communities need to be unified to fight injustice.
Von Miller Protests in Denver
Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller showed support at a Black Lives Matter protest in Denver alongside many of his teammates. Miller responded to the issue on Instagram saying:
"If you consider yourself an ally, it is time to have tough conversations with your fellow man because the responsibility of deconstructing bigotry doesn't fall on those burdened by it."
Deontay Wilder Scribes Powerful Poem
Former WBC Heavyweight Champion Deontay Wilder posted a powerful poem on social media, touching on the issues of slavery, police brutality, and racial injustices. With ominous thunder and lightning in the background, Wilder says:
"To this day jailed, raped, gunned, how long will it last? As if Malcom X and MLK wasn't a must. As Eric Garner, Breonna Taylor, Trayvon Martin all died from well just being us. Dark like molasses, black like the night, unite we stand together we fight."
All of these athletes have come together in the fight for racial equality and police reform. They are all using their platforms for good and to draw attention to issues and bring about change.
