A&E Cancels Flagship Series 

In a decision made by A&E network and Big Fish Entertainment, one of the highest rated shows on basic cable will come to an end. Live P.D. debuted in 2016 and highlights policing in America while giving a transparent look at how law enforcement acts while on duty. In a statement to Deadline about the cancellation of the show, A&E stated:

"This is a critical time in our nation's history and we have made the decision to cease production on Live PD," the network said in a statement to Deadline. "Going forward, we will determine if there is a clear pathway to tell the stories of both the community and the police officers whose role it is to serve them. And with that, we will be meeting with community and civil rights leaders as well as police departments."

This cancellation comes after A&E renewed Live P.D. for another 160 episodes a month before. Another reason for the cancellation may be due to the recently reported death of Javier Ambler back in 2019 during a police stop. This was allegedly captured on video by Live P.D., but the video has since been destroyed. This incident, coupled with protests and pleading for police reform, ultimately led to the decision that the show could not go on in its current form or storyline.
