After appearing in the high grossing "Scream" sequel released earlier this year, Neve Campbell will not return to the franchise, as a result of a salary dispute.
Campbell is known for her role of Sidney Prescott, an original fan-favorite in the series dedicated to stopping the killings of Ghostface, a masked murderer in the town of Woodsboro, California.
In the first movie (1996), Campbell played a high schooler alongside other Courteney Cox and Drew Barrymore, but in the most recent addition, Campbell was cast to aid the new group of high schoolers.
The actress reflected to E! News, “As a woman I have had to work extremely hard in my career to establish my value, especially when it comes to Scream.”
With this in mind, Campbell made the decision to refuse Paramount’s offer regarding "Scream 6." She told the outlet:
“I felt the offer that was presented to me did not equate to the value I have brought to the franchise.”
Paramount has not commented on the situation.
