With tons of new shows making their way to Netflix, other shows, sadly, are saying their goodbyes.
The streaming service recently called it quits for young-adult hitsThe Society and I Am Not Okay With This, despite the fact that both shows were green-lit for second seasons. With so much uncertainty right now, these series were just two of the many TV show casualties that the pandemic has caused.
Netflix acknowledged the cancellations in a statement, saying:
"We've made the difficult decision not to move forward with second seasons of The Society and I Am Not Okay With This. We're disappointed to have to make these decisions due to circumstances created by COVID, and we are grateful to these creators, including: Jonathan Entwistle, Christy Hall, Shawn Levy, Dan Levine, Dan Cohen and Josh Barry at 21 Laps Entertainment for I Am Not Okay With This; Chris Keyser, Marc Webb and Pavlina Hatoupis for The Society; and all the writers, casts, and crews who worked tirelessly to make these shows for our members around the world."
The Society
The Society premiered in May 2019 and starred Kathryn Newton, Jack Mulhern, Alex Fitzalan, Kristine Froseth and Sean Berdy. The series was a "modern day" take on Lord of the Flies.
I Am Not Okay With This
I Am Not Okay With This starred Sophia Lillis and was based on the Charles Forsman graphic novel of the same name. The show premiered in February 2020.
