Michael V. Epps Teases Epic Finale On 'The Chi' Season Four | Celebrity Page

Michael V. Epps is opening up on Jake's upcoming struggles as The Chi wraps up another hit season.

He's not shy about his success!

Showtime'sThe Chi, created by screenwriter Lena Waithe, tackles real issues in the south side of Chicago, including racism and police brutality.

Michael V. Epps plays one of the integral characters in the hit show, as Jake Taylor.

"It was really humbling for me, especially for me to be acting it out and putting it on screen... showing what my people go through and how traumatic of a moment that can be for somebody at a young age," Epps said.

Season four largely centers around an incident of police brutality, which Epps saw coming after the #BlackLivesMatter protests.

"When I read the script, I was already expecting them to put something like that in there, because they've been doing it the previous seasons. Everything in the show is something real. That's what I really like about this show. Everything in the show is all real. There's nothing fake."

Given that the series is already in its fourth season, Epps has grown in multiple avenues since the show's first season.

"I'm proud to see it grow. It's a part of me, it's like seeing myself grow, because every season I grow mentally, physically and acting-wise. I get better with my acting skills, so it's like seeing me grow."

Despite the season winding down, Epps assured fans that there is more to come for Jake.

"Jake has other situations going on with his friends and his family. It's a very emotional season for Jake. There's going to be some trouble... I can't say too much. You're definitely going to get left with a cliffhanger."

Tune in to The Chi Sundays nights on Showtime.
