Fresh off the release of his new album Montero, rising artist Lil Nas X sat down with SiriusXM's Andy Cohen to catch up on all the exciting developments in his life. In his conversation with Cohen, the two reviewed Lil Nas X's current relationship status, getting to meet his favorite music artist, and his most recent performance covering a Dolly Parton song.

Firstly, and most importantly, Andy Cohen got down to business reviewing Lil Nas's love life behind the scenes. Lil Nas disclosed

I was seeing someone. Um, I kind of decided I didn't want to anymore.

Discussing his experience so far being single, Lil Nas also shared with Cohen that he is in no rush to find someone at the current moment. Instead, he's more focused on launching his career further into stardom.

I don't want to ruin anybody's, uh, perception of this song, but I don't think I want any guy right now. You know. Maybe, maybe, maybe I'm floating around right now. I'm just having, I just want to have , I just want to work on my music and every now and then, you know, maybe I'll kiss a guy, every blue moon, you know.

Since focusing on his career, Lil Nas has been able to connect with a couple renowned artists who he, himself looks up to.

Cohen asked Lil Nas X who he was most excited about meeting at the Met Gala this year.

Probably Frank Ocean. I feel like I've met so many great people, but definitely Frank is at the top of my list because for one, you know, he represents a lot to me and you'd never see Frank Ocean anywhere. Like he's one of those people are not real, you know? Yeah.

Lil Nas shared that this was his first time meeting Frank Ocean in person, and when asked about what they talked about, this is what he had to say,

What did we talk about? We like um, he was like, you know, you know, giving props and congratulations and whatnot. And I was just saying the same thing to him. And just like, how much, like his music shaped my life and whatnot, and hoping to collaborate with him.

Frank Ocean isn't the only big influence Lil Nas X has been able to chat with. Lil Nas also discussed him covering Dolly Parton's song Jolene for BBC.

When asked about his inspiration behind choosing the song Jolene, Lil Nas said

I mean, cause we originally were going to do a Nirvana song and then like, we were kind of goofing around and you know, like doing Jolene, it was like, wait a minute. What if we actually did Jolene? And I feel like, you know, the context to it, like completely changes as you just said, I was like, 'oh, that'd be really cool'. So, you know, I went for it. Hey, you know, have like my history with country. So I was like, ah, this is perfect.

Cohen also asked Lil Nas if he had heard from Dolly Parton after covering her song.

I don't think I've heard from her, but I think someone, I don't remember who told me, i think somebody said that she loves it. I;'m not sure if that was accurate or whatnot, but I haven't heard from her personally.
