The world missed out on a steamy "House of Gucci" scene, featuring a Lady Gaga-Salma Hayek makeout session.
Gaga, who plays Patrizia Reggiani opposite Adam Driver's doomed Maurizio Gucci, revealed new details about the cut scene on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" She explained that she wanted to try having Patrizia kiss her friend, Pina, after the two learn the hired hitmen, successfully killed Maurizio.
Gaga said that the whole scene was ultimately cut for time reasons.
"But it was an awesome scene," Gaga said. "All cats were following her, and Salma, to get the cats to follow her, she put a bunch of catnip in her boot," the singer recalled, laughing.
"So Salma's walking around the house and the cats are following her … and then we were surrounded by cats and we started making out, and I made out with Salma Hayek!"
She admitted that after, she felt like that "really annoying kid in school that's bragging that they made out with the popular girl but has no proof," the star explained how the kiss came about.
"I was like, 'OK, listen. So, before we do this scene, I just want your consent to do something together.' And she's like, 'OK, OK, OK. What do you want to do?'" Gaga recalled. "And I said, 'OK. So I was thinking, you know after the hit gets put on Maurizio and you get the phone call that he's dead, that I walk over to you and kiss you. And she's like, 'What?!'"
Gaga brought the idea to director Ridley Scott and producer Giannina Scott, Ridley's wife. "And so then we asked them, and they were like, 'Yeah, sure, try it.' And we did it."
Gaga has been nominated for Best Actress for her "House of Gucci" performance at the 2022 SAG Awards in February and the Critics Choice Awards in March.
