Kim Kardashian Uses Former Victoria's Secret Angels to Show Off Her 'Fits Everybody' Line

The SKIMS founder launched a "body positive" campaign with several high profile models, but something wasn't quite right.

Kim Kardashian rallied a group of former Victoria's Secret models for her latest SKIMS campaign.

The shapewear line brought together Heidi Klum, Tyra Banks, Alessandra Ambrosia and Candice Swanepoel for the first time in a photoshoot promoting the brand's newest "Icons Campaign" for its line of "Fits Everybody Underwear."

A statement from the brand said that the campaign was conceived to "showcases the models’ strength, energy and everlasting allure, with images that reflect the group’s enduring legacies." It continued,

"Tyra, Heidi, Alessandra and Candice have each played such a distinct and everlasting role in shaping the industry. Outfitting these incredible women in our Fits Everybody underwear collection is truly a full circle moment for me. I’m thrilled to celebrate these women alongside a collection that our customers adore."

While social media had a field day over seeing all the industry veterans unite, other felt using stereotypically "thin" models for a "fits everybody" campaign missed the mark.

The campaign was launched just days after singer and body-positive activist Lizzo launched her own shapewear line. Lizzo, a plus sized woman, had designed the "Yitty" clothing herself, with hopes of being inclusive of all body types, covering sizes XS to 6X.

She said that the motivation behind the line was to make form-fitting clothing different from the "sad, restrictive shapewear" of other brands. She explained,

“It was a really painful, shameful experience because I grew up in a society where as soon as I was aware of it, I was made to feel ashamed of how I looked. [...] I want anyone who hears about Yitty to know that this is not an invitation to change something about yourself in a negative way. This is come as you are. And if something doesn’t feel comfortable, don’t wear it.”

As for the models she called, the promos speak for themselves.
