Kelly Clarkson Finalizes Her Name Change to Kelly Brianne

"I just kept my middle name for my personal life. I'm still Kelly Clarkson.

Kelly Clarkson is officially Kelly Brianne in the eyes of the law!

According to court documents from Los Angeles Superior Court, a judge granted her petition on Monday to legally change her name from Kelly Brianne Clarkson to Kelly Brianne.

Clarkson initially filed to change her name in February, writing in court documents that her "new name more fully reflects who I am."

Last week, she explained her decision at the Los Angeles premiere of her new show, "American Song Contest."

"I just got divorced, so I had to drop my married last name," the singer toldPeople, the TV Show! "I just kept my middle name for my personal life. I'm still Kelly Clarkson."

Clarkson previously explained in court docs that Kelly Brianne "more fully reflects who I am."

In Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock's contentious divorce, the Grammy winner was granted primary custody of their two children — daughter River, 7, and son Remington, 5 — while Blackstock, who resides in Montana, will have the kids one weekend a month.

Clarkson will also pay her former husband $115,000 in spousal support each month until Jan. 31, 2024. Meanwhile, Blackstock will pay Clarkson $2,000 a month while staying at the former couple's Montana ranch until June.

Clarkson is maintaining ownership of both Montana properties and the family pets, multiple cars — including a Ford Bronco, a Ford F-250, and a Porsche Cayenne — and a flight simulator.

Clarkson filed for divorce from Blackstock in June 2020 after nearly seven years of marriage. They were declared legally single in August 2021.
