Kanye West took to Twitter to release his new song "DONDA" on June 12th, what would have been his mother's 71st birthday.
Donda West passed away at the age of 58 in 2007 due to heart failure, following a plastic surgery procedure.
West's Tweet
To introduce the song, West wrote:
"In loving memory of my incredible mother on her birthday. My mom reciting KRS1 lyrics This song is called DONDA."
The song opens up with Donda West reciting KRS1 lyrics with a gospel choir in the background. Afterwards, West begins rapping, as he dedicates each word to his mother. In the lyrics fans can hear West say:
"Mama I need you to tuck me in/I done made some mistakes and they rubbed it in/I know you and grandma had enough of them/Why I gotta be so stubborn then."

Kim Kardashian West also took to Twitter to honor her husband's late mother by posting an older video of them singing his 2005 hit song "Hey Mama."
