Jodie Foster was completely surprised to win a Golden Globe last night. Viewers at home, on the other hand, were even more surprised when the actress mentioned Aaron Rodgers in her acceptance speech. Check out why!
Foster won Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture for her role in The Mauritanian. She was sitting on the couch with her wife Alexandra Hedison and the adorable dog on her lap when they called her name. Immediately, Foster didn't hide her surprise saying: "Are you kidding me? I think you made a mistake!"
During her acceptance speech, however, Foster thanked many people -- after greeting her wife and her dog, the actress mentioned Aaron Rodgers. This surprised everyone.... Except Rodgers himself.
Rodgers had indeed thanked Foster first during his acceptance speech for NFL MVP award for the 2020 season. A week ago, during her interview on Jimmy Kimmel, Foster had said that she didn't personally know Rodgers but that he knew that she is "his biggest fan."
When Kimmel asked the actress if she would've returned the favor in case of victory, Foster replied "Absolutely." and, indeed she did.
Shailene Woodley, Foster's The Mauritanian co-star, is currently engaged to Rodgers. Kimmel had asked if all of this was a coincidence and Foster had replied "I don't know if that's a coincidence, but yes she's fantastic!"
