Jimmy Fallon Is Back In The Studio And Interviews Governor Andrew Cuomo

Gov. Andrew Cuomo on New York Reopening and His Dating Life

The Tonight Show host is the first late night TV host to be back in the studio and his first guest is equally exciting!

New Yorkers and comedy fans alike were eager to see Jimmy Fallon back in his modified studio at NBC studios in NYC. The late night show had its host, the house band The Roots, and a limited crew. With proper precautions set in place, it only made sense to have the New York Governor Andrew Cuomo as his first guest.

Back in the studio of a new, New York

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon followed New York Department of Health regulations through their social distancing, no audience, and most of the staff still working from home. The interview were shot over Zoom, and Jimmy Fallon was the only one in the studio but the show. The night's lineup also included Charlize Theron and a performance from the band Little Big Town.

Cuomo's COVID-19 Response

To kick off the first episode that was not an "At Home" edition, Governor Cuomo talks about New York's aggressive approach to COVID-19.

"We went from having the worst infection rate in the country, we now have the best infection rate so we really turned the corner. New Yorkers stepped up. We tamed the beast, we just have to cross our fingers and hope that it stays there."
