The development of an "It" prequel series is finally in the works for HBO Max!
Stephen King's popular horror story is rumored to be returning to television after the success of Andrés Muschietti's two-part film. "Welcome to Derry" is the working title of the series, and it will allegedly be set back in the 1960s. The new series will lead up to the events of the first film. The series is also said to include the "origin story of Pennywise the Clown."
Muschietti looks to executively produce the show, alongside Barbara Muschietti and Jason Fuchs. Per multiple sources, the Muschiettis and Fuchs have already developed the story for the show.
The release date of the series has yet to be determined.
