Tonight, the best in indie will be lauded and celebrated in a different way, just like everything this year has been done just a little different. So, ahead of tonight's festivities, let's take a look at the show.

The two hour ceremony, which is usually held under a giant tent on the beach in Southern California, will be hosted by Saturday Night Live's Melissa Villaseñor.
This year, the entire ceremony will be held virtually, and will be airing on IFC and AMC+ at 10 pm.
Being held on a Thursday is a little odd, because the Independent Spirit Awards are traditionally held on the Saturday before the Oscars.
They've gone all out for this virtual ceremony too. Attendees will be treated to both a virtual pre-show cocktail hour hosted by alums of RuPaul's Drag Race, will have a virtual "table" where they would have sat at the real show, and a virtual backstage featuring Carla Renata and Angelique Jackson.
It looks to be an interesting night that's going all out on the virtual setting. The success of this night could redefine how award shows are done in this pandemic, especially with technical difficulty during the Golden Globes.
