For those who still have a bad taste in their mouth after the way Game of Thrones ended, there might be light at the end of the tunnel.
HBO announced that the GOT prequel series House of the Dragonwill be released in 2022. Viewers will return to Westeros for the Targaryen reign, will noted source material from George R.R. Martin's novel Fire & Blood. Many believe that the GOT series, headed by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, lacked the needed material to complete the series in an effective manner. This is due to GRRM's slower process with the latest books in the saga.
Given the new series will derive the story directed from a GRRM written book, there is much anticipation surrounding the launch of the series. According to THR, casting is well underway.
