What To Expect At Tonight's Billboard Music Awards

What To Expect At Tonight's Billboard Music Awards

It's a big night for music!

Get ready to party music fans! Tonight, NBC will be airing the Billboard Music Awards and Jaymes has the inside look at today's award show.

The Show Will Go On

In March, the Billboard Music Awards was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, six months later, the award show is back with Kelly Clarkson hosting for the third time. The show will not have a live audience but will be socially distant as the show will still take place at LA's Dolby Theater. The awards are based on the billboard charts of March 2019-March 2020. It's going to be a big night as presenters include Jane Lynch, Nicole Richie, and Julia Michaels.

Post Malone Leads With Most Nominations

Post Malone leads the night with 16 nominations. Followed by Lil Nas X with 13 nominations, Billie Eilish and Khalid both have 12 nominations, Lizzo has 11 nominations, and Kanye West has 9 nominations. However, the major question is, who will take home the Top Artist Award? Eilish, Khalid, Post Malone, Taylor Swift, and the Jonas Brothers are all nominated to take home the top award.

Performances From Your Favorite Artists

Also, we can't forget music performances from your favorite artists like BTS, Alicia Keys, Bad Bunny, Luke Combs, Demi Lovato and more!

Icon Award Recipient Garth Brooks

Taking home the special award of the night, the Icon Award is being awarded to legendary country musician, Garth Brooks. Over Brooks' career he has won 17 Billboard Awards, 23 ACM Awards, 2 Grammys and has achieved more success. As for other special awards, Killer Mike will be awarded the Change Maker Award.
