Vanity Fair's cover story, written by Nancy Jo Sales and photographed by Dudi Hasson, features Gal Gadot discussing her role in influencing women as Wonder Womanand how she ultimately wants to promote good in the world.
Wonder Woman
Gal Gadot's rendition of DC's Wonder Woman went beyond the comic book world, inspiring women worldwide. Young and older audiences are able to bond over the strength they hold, inspired by Wonder Woman, directed by Patty Jenkins.
Wonder Woman 1984, also directed by Jenkins, is set to premiere on December 25, 2020, delves deeper into the female bond, as Wonder Woman's colleague Dr. Barbara Minerva (played by Kristen Wiig) comes into her evil form through alter ego, Cheetah.
Gadot is a major advocate for female representation on the big screen. In her interview with Sales, Gadot says,
"for boys-lucky them-they got to experience, since the beginning of the movies, that they were the protagonist, they were the strong ones, they saved the day. But we didn't get the representation."
Family Above Everything
Gadot and her partner, Jason Varsano, are the parents to two little girls. Gadot's daughters mean the world to her and are a big motive in her mission to inspire girls. Gadot says,
"I think it's so important-and of course it's ultra important to me because I'm a mother of two girls-to show them the potential of what they can be... they can be bigger than life."
Varsano is Gadot's biggest supporter. He encourages her to pursue her career endeavors and not allow her motherhood to get in the way of telling her stories.
Pilot Wave
Gadot and Varsano now own their own production company. Their first project is a series on the life of Hedy Lamarr which is set to premiere on Apple.
Death on the Nile
Another one of Gadot's projects Death on the Nile comes out December 18, 2020.
Praising Gadot, her Death on the Nile co-star Annette Bening says Gadot is an underestimated artist. Bening believe people look over Gadot's intelligence, due to her beauty, and is ecstatic that the actress is finally getting the recognition she deserves.
Gal Gadot
In her issue with Vanity Fair, Gadot ends by talking about how lucky she feels to be in the position she is in. She is very grateful for the opportunities she has been given and hopes to spark good in the world, through her projects.
