The last tour of music legend Elton John has once again been postponed.
John's shows in Dallas, Texas were delayed when the venue posted a statement that revealed the singer had tested positive for Covid-19. It read,
"It is with great regret that the Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour dates in Dallas set for Tuesday, January 25 and Wednesday, January 26 must be postponed due to Elton recently testing positive for Covid-19. Fortunately, Elton is fully vaccinated and boosted, and is experiencing only mild symptoms. Fans should hold on to their tickets as they will be honored at the rescheduled dates to be announced soon. Elton and the Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour look forward to returning to the stage shortly."
This is the third time the tour has been postponed. The first instance was in March 2020, with the second being in September 2021 while the singer was undergoing hip surgery. When the show was rescheduled initially in June 2021, John shared his excitement with his fans, stating,
"The shows that I announce today will be my final tour dates ever in North America and Europe. I'm going to go out in the biggest possible way, performing at my very best, with the most spectacular production I've ever had, playing in places that have meant so much to me throughout my career."
The "Farewell Yellow Brick Road" tour was set to be the last of John's career, and it is unclear if it will still continue once the artist has recovered. There has been no announcement regarding his weekend shows in Arkansas yet. As of now, he has a year of shows scheduled, with a farewell in Sweden in 2023. John has been vocal about finally ending his touring career so he can spend time with his family.
As we await the status of the tour, we wish John a speedy and safe recovery.
