This was the first time Musk has outwardly and publicly admitted to having the Autism Spectrum Diagnosis. He also mentioned that he is the first person that has admitted the diagnosis to host the show.
The Mayo Clinic defines Aspergers or AD as "A developmental disorder affecting [the] ability to effectively socialize and communicate."
"I'm actually making history tonight as the first person with Asperger's to host 'SNL.' Or at least the first to admit it. So I won't make a lot of eye contact with the cast tonight. But don't worry, I'm pretty good at running 'human' in emulation mode," Musk told the cast, poking fun at his disorder and his robot-like reputation.
The announcement was received well by a majority of audiences, but others showed criticism for Musk claiming to be the first host with the disorder.

With that said, Musk received a lot of positive reinforcement from the media after sharing his disorder with the world.
Furthermore, he is not the only great mind in the media that shares the same diagnosis. Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg also has Asperger's and calls it her superpower.
