The queen of country better known as Dolly Parton has declined the offer of a statue of her displayed outside of the Tennessee Capitol.

The legendary country singer had a bill proposing a statue that was introduced to the legislation in January by Tennessee House member John Windle.

Parton tweeted in a statement "I am honored and humbled by their intention but I have asked the leaders of the state legislature to remove the bill from any and all consideration."

She believes that with everything going on, there is more important things to worry about at the capital.

"Given all that is going on in the world, I don't think putting me on a pedestal is appropriate at this time," Parton stated.

Parton is hopeful that potentially down the road there will be a time for her recognition, but right now is not the case.
