Although the show does have its comedic and light-hearted moments, it doesn't shy away from more serious topics, especially now in its final moments.

"I'm so proud of the work that we've done and I'm so incredibly grateful to the fans for being so lovely and being so supportive and being just along this ride with all of us. It will live on this streaming platform and be available for people to go back and revisit and binge all three now that they get the entire story so I'm excited that it's gonna finally all be theirs." Steinfeld said.

From the beginning, fans and critics praised Dickinson for its portrayals of gender and sexuality. Ella Hunt, who plays Sue, the love interest of the titular character, opened up on the show's importance.

"It means so much to me to be a part of a show that is representing queerness in an honest and beautiful way. To me, it's maybe been the best part of the show. How fans have connected with the Emily and Sue storyline and how people have found themselves in the characters," Hunt said.

Another one of Steinfeld's co-stars, Amanda Warren, shared what the show is truly about.

"It's a story about a woman who fought for her future to make and create her own future," Warren said.

Chinaza Uche, another one of Steinfeld's co-stars, added:

"In a time that was difficult we still found love, laughter, you know, all the things that make you human."

Anna Baryshnikov, who plays the younger sister of Emily Dickinson, had this to say about the show's third and final season:

"I think the fans have so many surprises in store for them. I am just so excited to relive it with them."
