Our Sonia Isabelle is here to cover all the latest movie news on today's Dish.
It's the moment James Bond fans have been waiting for. After countless delays, No Time To Die is finally here. The film is the 25th installment in the Bond franchise, which has been going strong for nearly 60 years.
No Time To Die 🔪
It also marks the fifth and final appearance of Daniel Craig, who took up the 007 persona back in 2006 in Casino Royale. He went on to star in Quantum Solace, Skyfall, and Spectre. Now, 15 years after his first appearance as Bond, Craig will be retiring the role. In No Time To Die, Craig's co-stars include Ana de Armas, Rami Malek, Lashana Lynch and more.
Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter Billie Eilish lends her voice to the titular theme song which has since gone platinum in the UK and gold in the US. No Time To Die is in theaters now.
Birds of Paradise 🦅
Another movie premiering this weekend is Birds of Paradise. The psychological thriller follows two ballet students, played by Diana Silvers and Kristine Froseth, who compete on and off the stage.
"It's a cutthroat world. It's a cutthroat environment and school," Silvers said.
Fans may recognize Silvers from her roles in films like Booksmart and the horror movie Ma. This time around, she stars alongside Froseth of Sierra Burgess Is a Loser fame.
"We really explore so much: female friendship, competition, sexual awakenings. There's loss. There's trauma. I mean, there's so much that we're going into. I really don't wanna spoil it, so you'll just have to watch," Froseth said.
Writer/Director Sarah Adina Smith added:
"Come see it because it's a fun dance movie but I hope that you'll leave thinking about some other things too."
Birds of Paradise is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
Killing Eleanor ❤️
In other movie news, Killing Eleanor follows a terminally ill woman named Eleanor, played by Jenny O'Hara, who wants to die on her own terms. She asks for help from an alcohol and drug abuser named Natalie, played by Annika Marks, who owes her a favor.
"It's a movie about how we live and how we die and about these two strange people finding this bond," Marks said.
Marks is pulling double duty this time around as not only the star of the film but the writer of the screenplay.
"I can't just sit back as a female actor complaining about men not writing the roles that I want to play. I have to... If I'm going to complain about it, there is a solution here which is that we can start writing our own stories," Marks said.
Killing Eleanor is available on demand starting October 12th.
