Criss Angel's War Against Pediatric Cancer
Criss Angel may be one of the world’s greatest illusionists, but his efforts to fight pediatric cancer are entirely real.
“Anyway that I can help make pediatric cancer disappear — I’m down.”
Angel’s son Johnny Crisstopher was diagnosed with a form of leukemia when he was only a year old.
“It doesn’t discriminate. It could affect your family, and if you hear those words that no parent wants to hear — it’s really a reality check.”
Naturally, Angel has a bigger bag of tricks at his disposal than most parents facing such a devastating situation, and he's now putting them to good use for the children and families affected.
“I’m here in anyway I can be used to help the kids that are going through this treatment.”
Three years after Johnny Crisstopher’s diagnosis, he is in remission, but Angel’s fight for the kids who face this challenge continues.
Criss Angel and His Celebrity Friends Help to Raise $5 Million
Angel uses every Mindfreak performance to raise money, and is now working on a star-studded benefit at his theater in Planet Hollywood.
Among the celebrity supporters in Angel’s entourage are Gordon Ramsay, Gary Oldman, Imagine Dragons, Paul Stanley of Kiss, and MMA legend Randy Couture.
The goal of the event? To raise $5 million in one night.
In addition to the fundraiser, Angel supports the Cure 4 the Kids Foundation, which is a non-profit that fights catastrophic, pediatric diseases. To promote their efforts, Angel has designed a themed room in their facility that sits next to another contributed by singer Gwen Stefani.
Criss Angel's Growing Family
Between his incredible career, and contributions to the world, Criss Angel continues to grow his family. He and ex-wife Shaunyl Benson welcomed Xristos Yanni into the world in January 2019.
