We're highlighting the BRIT Awards most exciting moments from the performances of the night to the winners making history!

In case you missed it, we've got you covered for a BRITs recap. Let's get into it.

Little Mix Broke BRIT Award History

Little Mix won the prize for Best British Group at the award ceremony, which makes them the first ever all-woman group to win the award! This comes just days after two out of the three members of the band announced they were pregnant with their first child: on May 4, Leigh-Anne Pinncock announced on socials she was pregnant by showing off her beautiful baby bump, and just a week later Perrie Edwards followed, announcing she was expecting with her partner Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Bandmate Jade Thirwall mentioned in the band's acceptance speech:

"The fact that a girl band has never won this award really does speak volumes. So this award isn't just for us, it's for the Spice Girls, Sugababes, AllSaints, Girls Aloud, all of the incredible, incredible female fans, this one's for you."

Taylor Swift Accepts Global Icon Award

Only three other artists have taken home the prize of the Global Icon award: Sir Elton John in 2016, David Bowie in 2016, and Robbie Williams in 2017. This means Swift also makes history by being the first woman ever to take home the prize, as well as the youngest winner. In her acceptance speech, Swift thanked friends, family, the important writers that she worked with on albums Folklore and Evermore, and had an inspiring message for fans:

"If you're being met with resistance, that probably means that you're doing something new. If you're experiencing turbulence or pressure, that probably means you're rising. And there might be times when you put your whole heart and soul in something, and it is met with cynicism or skepticism, you cannot let that crush you you have to let it fuel you."

Dua Lipa's Opening Performance

The popstar opened the event with a show-stopping performance that started in the subway. Dua Lipa sang a medley including songs "Love Again," "Physical," "Pretty Please," "Hallucinate," and "Don't Start Now." The singer was a perfect choice to open the entire award show, after her 2020 sophomore album Future Nostalgia was met with widespread acclaim in both the UK and the US, and her 2021 Grammy performance impressed audiences even more. She also took home awards at this year's event, such as Best Album and Best British Female. Watch the whole BRITs performance above.

Olivia Rodrigo and Taylor Swift Finally Meet

If you're a fan of either of these stars, you know that the two have formed a friendship over the past few months and this was definitely a heartwarming moment. Olivia Rodrigo has been very open about how big of a Swiftie she is, and when Rodrigo's first hit "driver's license" blew up back in January, Taylor was right there cheering her on. Olivia has since helped Taylor with the marketing and teasing for her first rerecorded album, Fearless (Taylor's Version), appearing in a TikTok that teased some of the not-yet released music at the time.

Yet Another Iconic Look from Harry Styles

Harry Styles arrived in style to the BRITs red carpet by sporting a complete Gucci suit. The suit comprised of various brown and beige tones, pulling together a truly 70's-inspired look. The singer also accepted his award for Best British single he won with "Watermelon Sugar," looking dashing as ever.
