Bridgerton has been renewed for season 2, but an unexpected news just landed: Regé-Jean Page won't be part of the cast.
Bridgerton has been a huge hit from the moment it landed on Netflix. The series, based on the novels by Julia Quinn, followed Daphne Bridgerton, played by actress Phoebe Dynevor's and her relationship with the Duke.
Each season, however, will focus on a different Quinn's novel. Hence, the second season will have as protagonist Anthony Bridgerton, played by Jonathan Bailey. Being Anthony's sister, Dyvenor will appear in season 2 and although Page won't be physically present, the Duke will still be Daphne's husband in the story.
The series is set to begin the production of season 2 in April.
Shonda Rhimes, creator of Shondaland, reminded the audience through an Instagram post that the Duke will never be gone:
"Remember: the Duke is never gone. He's just waiting to be binge watched all over again."
When one chapter closes, another begins. Although Page won't participate in the second season of Bridgerton, we can't help but wait for Anthony's brand new adventure.
