From Aileen Quin to Andrea McArdle and even Sarah Jessica Parker, many talented and influential women have rocked the classic Annie ensemble. Celina Smith is next in line to continue the legacy!
"I am ecstatic... and just because of my love for the holiday season, like the warmth and the cheeriness, and especially with the impact and the message of Annie coming with, combining with the holiday season, it's going to be so amazing," Smith said.
Smith is also in good company with A-list co-stars like Harry Connick Jr., Taraji P. Henson, Megan Hilty, Tituss Burgess and Nicole Scherzinger.
With Taraji P. Henson playing Miss Hannigan, Smith joked on her experience working with Henson.
"I'm so nervous! It's so weird that the first experience that you have with one of your icons is for them to bully you. But I am excited, I really am."
Andrea McArdle, who was the first women to play Annie on Broadway back in the 70's, was originally added to the cast of Annie Live!. Sadly, Andrea McArdle has just announced that she is dropping out of her role as Eleanor Roosevelt.
"My father is currently in the hospital, and I need to put all of my energy into his health and well-being. I wish everyone involved with the production great success. Break a leg everyone," McArdle said.
Regardless, the show will still go on without Broadway's original Annie. Annie Live! debuts this Thursday, December 2nd, on NBC.
