Andrew Lloyd Webber is the world famous composer well known for his work in writing The Phantom of The Opera, Jesus Christ Superstar and the hit musical Cats. After the 2019 film remake of Cats, Andrew Lloyd Webber called it "ridiculous."
Cats Review
Webber credits director Tom Hopper for the reason the film received extremely harsh critical reviews. In an interview with the U.K.'s Sunday Times, Andrew Lloyd Webber said:
"The problem with the film was that Tom Hooper decided, as he had with Les Mis, that he didn't want anybody involved in it who was involved in the original show,"
Despite the film have an A-list cast of stars like Taylor Swift, Jennifer Hudson, Jason Derulo and Judy Dench, it still fizzled at the box office. Cast members like James Cordon and Rebel Wilson made jokes about it at the Oscars and director Tom Hopper defended the films odd special effects and off putting human-cat hybrids in an interview saying,
"I didn't think it was going to be a big deal, and it was obviously much more of a big deal than I thought,"
Regardless, the film was unique and gave us the song "Beautiful Ghosts" by cowritten by Taylor Swift and Tom Hopper.
