Fans are disappointed to hear the news.

AMC has officially canceled NOS4A2 after two seasons starring Ashleigh Cummings, Zachary Quinto, and Jahkara Smith.

The series showrunner Jami O'Brien broke the news on Twitter.

In a four-part tweet, O'Brien thanked the show's cast and crew who worked on bringing the series to life and thanked fans who tuned in to the series. AMC premiered season two back on June 21st, while the finale recently aired on August 23rd. Season two consisted of only ten episodes.

The series was based on the Joe Hill novel about Charlie Manx, played by Quinto as a shameless and seductive immortal feeding off the souls of children depositing their remains into a very unhappy, warped, cold Christmas village. His whole world is threatened when Vic McQueen, played by Cummings discovers she has the supernatural ability to find lost things. McQueen's on the hunt to defeat Manx and save his victims before losing her mind or falling victim to him.

According to Variety, AMC released a statement:

"Christmasland may live forever, but 'NOS4A2' will come to an end with the conclusion of season two. We are so thankful to Jami O'Brien, Joe Hill and the entire cast and crew for two seasons of inspired, terrifying and thoroughly captivating and age-defying television. And thanks to the fans for climbing into the Wraith and coming along for the ride."
