It’s two out of two for Zendaya’s acting!
Zendaya has won another Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series at this year’s ceremony. This is her second time being nominated for an Emmy – both times for playing Rue Bennett on HBO’s Euphoria.
In 2022, Euphoria broke several ratings records for HBO and HBO Max, establishing itself as one of the most popular shows in the world. As a result, Rue has become one of the most prominent LGBTQ+ characters on television – and Zendaya’s performance is certainly award-worthy.
Outside of her recognitions as an actress, Zendaya was also credited in the Emmy nominations for Outstanding Drama Series and twice in the Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics category. All of those Emmy noms were associated with Euphoria.
Even though only two seasons of Euphoria have been released, Zendaya is certainly establishing herself as an awards heavy-hitter. For an actress in a drama series, two consecutive Emmy Awards is quite an astonishing feat.
The third season of Euphoria is currently in production, and this second win from Zendaya builds up even more momentum for the upcoming installment. The world has fallen in love with Rue, and so has the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences!
