Youtube Pledges $100 Million To Support Racial Justice

Youtube creates $100 million fund for black creators and artists.

Youtube announced its $100 million fund to support the voices of black creators and artists using their video streaming platform.

Bear Witness, Take Action

Youtube's new fund aims to amplify the voices of black creators on its platform. Youtube also announced their Bear Witness, Take Action special. This 90-minute special focuses on encouraging communities to take action for racial justice. With hosts Common and Keke Palmer, it will feature Youtube creators, artists, and other public figures. The special will also include discussion panels, and musical tributes with performances from John Legend and Trey Songz. Viewers will have the chance to donate to the Equal Justice Initiative directly from the live stream. Youtube Global Head of Original Content Susanne Daniels gave a statement regarding the new initiatives:

"I support the Black Lives Matter movement and I think it's imperative that we help amplify Black voices and continue the conversation about meaningful change and racial justice, YouTube has a unique ability to unite creators, artists and powerful voices within the Black community to encourage the world to stand up and speak out for racial justice."
