Are you a fan of country music? Coming up next week, the 54th Country Music Association awards are set to air November 11th at 8/7c.

Guess who's hosting!

Reba McEntire and Darius Rucker are stepping up to host and entertain this special night for country music. This is Reba's 5th time hosting and Darius' first.

As expected, the show will be produced a bit different this year to prevent the spread of COVID-19. But, Reba herself assured fans that there would still be an audience:

"We're gonna have a great time no matter how many people are in the audience...and we will have people in the audience this year. Cheering us on, cheering the people that are nominated winning the awards."

Miranda Lambert will arrive already in the spotlight as she leads the night with seven award nominations. She, along with Carrie Underwood, is breaking a 20 year streak by having more than one woman nominated in the artist of the year category.

Be sure to watch the CMA's next Wednesday.

Can't wait until then? Watch the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame Special Tomorrow Night

This year is a special year for the Hall of Fame as it is inducting a more diverse crop of musicians for the upcoming ceremony.

Our own Sonia Isabelle spoke with Lorenzo Thomas about this year's induction.

"It's a big deal. Because, we all know the hall of fame has been criticized in the past for their lack of diversity, right? And- you know, they haven't been inducting enough black artists. So, you know, to have Whitney Houston representing the RnB world and The Notorious B.I.G. representing hip hop...it really is a big step in the right direction for the hall of fame."

As for how these two artists came to earn their inductions, Lorenzo explained:

"It's unfortunate that both of them are not with us right now, but there's no way to overstate their legacies. And obviously- Whitney Houston was beloved from the RnB world. She was a winning, platinum selling legend. Notorious B.I.G. represented the culture and the true fabric of Hip Hop and the communities just loved him. So, it makes all the sense in the world for the hall of fame to choose both of them."

Lorenzo went on two say Houston and The Notorious B.I.G. were two of the most important artists of their generations. As for who may be inducted next year, Lorenzo predicts Jay-Z, Missy Elliot, Lauren Hill, and Eminem to name a few.
