WATCH NOW: "Ok Not To Be Ok" Music Video With Marshmello & Demi Lovato

Marshmello & Demi Lovato - OK Not To Be OK (Official Music Video)

Marshmello & Demi Lovato's New Anthem Promoting Mental Health Awareness

Demi Lovato opens up in a big way in her new uplifting track "Ok Not To Be Ok," collaborating with Marshmello.

The song takes an uplifting approach to hit the serious topic of mental health and emotional awareness head-on. We see both Marshmello and Demi Lovato channeling their inner adolescent selves while coping with emotions in their bedrooms. All the while Demi chants the title lyrics, "It's Ok Not to Be OK."

It doesn't take long to do a double-take when Demi Lovato looks at herself in the mirror and looks like she did back in her Camp Rock days. But the child-like flashbacks seem to serve as a reminder of those awkward phases we all go through while growing up. Despite the bright colors and upbeat melody, Lovato & Marshmello's mannerisms are not promoting happiness. The song serves as a reminder to whoever needs to hear it, that if you're down and don't feel ok, you're not alone... and there's always someone you can call for help. As the song says:"Don't get lost in the moment

Or give up when you're closest
All you need is somebody to say

It's okay not to be okay
It's okay not to be okay
When you're down and you feel ashamed
It's okay not to be okay."

Demi Lovato telling SiriusXM's Geronimo, "I just, I, you know, I wanted to bring positive energy and into this song and give a hopeful message because there's so many people out there right now that need to know they're not alone in a way that they're feeling this is, these are unprecedented times and we really need to take care of our mental health, because it is just as important as our physical health."
