A final chapter in the apocalypse.

For 11 seasons, The Walking Dead has kept fans on the edge of their seats. Now, the final season is promising one last ride.

Josh McDermitt, who plays Eugene, teased the thrilling conclusion ahead.

"It's epic, you know, we're not going out with a whimper, you know, we're going out huge. As we see some of these other iconic shows end their run in the last few years, there's a lot of buzz, there's a lot of excitement, and I think that people deserve a good ending to a show, and I hope we certainly give that to them," McDermitt said.

Eleanor Matsuura, who plays Yumiko, also revealed the conversations had heading into the final episodes.

"I think it's important for the fans to be open-minded. It's not going to be what you think it's going to be. I think there's going to be a lot of surprises, and stuff's going to get a bit weird for a bit, and you just have to trust it," Matsuura said.

Speaking of surprises, The Walking Dead is no stranger to those and is not afraid to kill off a main character and shake up the show.

Khary Payton plays Ezekiel, the leader of the Kingdom, and is used to the show's uncertainty.

"I keep my mouth shut until I'm on the stand. That's the only time you're going to hear from me is when it's actually on Sunday nights on AMC. Otherwise, you don't hear jack from me. That's how I survive this long. I was supposed to die a while ago, man. I've got a formula. This is how I do it," Payton said.

The final season of The Walking Dead airs Sunday nights on AMC.
