After the abrupt exit of former hosts Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews, GMA announced on Tuesday that supermodel Tyra Banks is set to be the newest host on ABC's dance competition series Dancing With The Stars.
Banks gushed on how excited she is about the new opportunity on GMA:
"I am excited about hosting and executive producing -- getting in there, live TV, you never know what happens on live TV. I like breaking those doors down, so that we don't have any more firsts. But it's nice to be first, so that you can open that door and let so many other people in after you -- so I'm excited."
The Abrupt Exit Of The Two Former Hosts
Just informed @DancingABC will be continuing without me. It's been an incredible 15 year run and the most unexpected gift of my career. I'm grateful for that and for the lifelong friendships made. That said, now what am I supposed to do with all of these glitter masks?

Former host Tom Bergeron was caught by surprise when ABC notified him that he will not be returning for the upcoming season. President of ABC Entertainment Karey Burke explained how even though the old memories will be cherished, the new memories will be even better, saying in a statement:
"Tom has been an integral part of the ABC family for nearly two decades, from hosting 'AFV' to 'Dancing with the Stars' — we are grateful for all he and Erin have done to make 'Dancing' a success. As we gear up for the show's 29th season, we can't wait to welcome Tyra Banks to our 'Dancing' stage. Tyra is an award-winning multihyphenate whose fierce female prowess and influence across many industries have made an indelible mark. Her fresh take on America's favorite dancing competition will surely bring more than a 'Smize' to fans everywhere."
What Will Season 29 Be Like?
Season 29 of the hit dance competition show will not be like the past seasons that we all know and love. It has been noted by ABC that there will be an artistic revamp, even though details have not been released at the time of publishing.
That being said, it has not yet been determined on how ABC will proceed with the 29th season due to the coronavirus outbreak impacting the entertainment industry.
Whatever happens next, we cannot wait to see Tyra Banks shine in a new and exciting role!
