Tribeca Film Fest Expands Drive-In Nationally To Football Stadiums

Among Other Different Venues

Tribeca Enterprises, IMAX, and AT&T recently announced their nationwide summer drive-in series. The annual Tribeca Drive-In series has expanded to showcase in Miami, Dallas, and Seattle with 30 iconic films.

The Tribeca Drive-In has been a signature feature for the illustrious Tribeca Film Festival over the past 20 years. Though the film festival fled to streaming platforms online in 2020, the drive-in concept grew in numbers. Special venues like the Dallas Cowboys' AT&T Stadium; the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena; Nickerson Beach in Nassau County, NY; and Orchard Beach in the Bronx, NY are all being rented out to become temporary driver-in cinemas. Additional venues will be announced in the weeks to follow and will run from July 2 to August, Thursdays through Sunday.

You can purchase tickets at the Tribeca Website, and a percentage of the proceeds are being donated to a Black Lives Matter organization. The events will offer free access and reserved parking to essential workers the first night at every venue. The Tribeca Enterprises and Tribeca Film Festival Co-Founder and CEO Jane Rosenthal had a few things to say about the Film Festival.

Jane Rosenthal on Tribeca Film Festival:

"At Tribeca's core, we aim to bring people together through the arts to send a signal of unity and resiliency to the world during challenging times. As an immediate and safe solution, we're excited to bring new and classic works from filmmakers, creators, and artists to communities across the country through the Tribeca Drive-In series. As the nation begins to emerge from months of quarantine, we look forward to movie theaters reopening and hope that the Drive-In serves as a reminder of the magic of the moviegoing experience."

Co-Founder Robert De Niro on the drive-in experience:

"The Tribeca Drive-In series is a tribute to movies and the shared experience of watching them, even if from our cars. In anticipation of theaters reopening imminently, we look back at what we love about the big screen experience."

The Movie list includes a wide variety of classics including Selena, Creed, Space Jam, Jerry Maguire, Back to the Future, Mean Girls and many more.
