Tom Everett Scott is back and better than ever. This time, the acting veteran is starring as the title character in Hallmark's Rise and Shine, Benedict Stone.
Rise and Shine, Benedict Stone is based on a book of the same name. It follows Scott's character as he tries, with the help of his niece, to make things work with his estranged wife, played by Mía Maestro.
"It's about this couple that is in love but they're at an impasse in their relationship. When I read the material I recognized something about a person who goes through growth at a later age when you think you know everything," Scott said.
"I think the mystery of our relationship, I guess. Just the mystery of love and two people that decide to be together and then they take a little bit of time off and then they make the crucial moment where two people decide if they want to be together or not," Maestro said.
This is definitely not Scott's first rodeo, however. He has been acting for nearly three decades. In fact, That Thing You Do!, turns 25 this year.
"I am so honored to be a part of a movie that people love. I can't believe it has been 25 years. I have some people checking that to make sure that math is right. It's the gift that keeps on giving, that movie."
25 years later, Scott is still doing what he does best. Rise and Shine, Benedict Stone airs Sunday, September 26th, on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
