Golf legend Eldrick 'Tiger' Woods has sustained multiple leg injuries after a Los Angeles car crash this morning. He is currently in surgery.
The crash occurred this morning, at approximately 7:12 am. The car "rolled over on the border of Rolling Hills Estates and Rancho Palos Verdes," officials say. The car was "traveling northbound on Hawthorne Boulevard, at Blackhorse Road, when it crashed. The vehicle sustained major damage." Tiger was the only occupant in the car.
The PGA champion had to be removed from the car with the help of the 'jaws of life' by LA county firefighters and paramedics, then sent in an ambulance to a nearby hospital for surgery. The crash can be described as a "roll-over traffic collision", said the LA County Sherriff's Department. "The driver and sole occupant was identified as PGA golfer, Eldrick 'Tiger' Woods. Mr. Woods was extricated from the wreck with the 'jaws of life' by Los Angeles County firefighters and paramedics, then transported to a local hospital by ambulance for his injuries."
This hasn't been Tiger's first public car accident. Back in 2009, Tiger drove his car into a tree at his home in Florida. Police are now investigating what caused this recent crash.
Furthermore, Woods recently hosted the PGA Tour event, Genesis Open at Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, California. He refrained from playing due to recent back surgery.
Woods' agent, Mark Steinberg told Golf Digest that "He is currently in surgery, and we thank you for your privacy and support."
Many of Tiger's close friends have rushed to support him on Twitter, like former Yankees player Alex Rodriguez.

Tiger is a father of one, to son Charlie Axel Woods, 12, an aspiring golfer himself. We are thinking of Tiger and his family at this time of uncertainty.
