Tarek El Moussa Opens Up On Upcoming Wedding & Chats New Season Of 'Flipping 101'

Tarek El Moussa has a lot on his plate.

For starters, the HGTV star is celebrating his engagement to Heather Rae Young. The happy couple is making preparations for their upcoming wedding.

"I'm feeling super excited. We've been engaged for 14 months or 13 months now. We put a lot of work into planning this thing. So, we have about 150 of our closest family and friends coming. We're gonna have a big fun wedding, a big fun party. We're gonna dance, we're gonna eat. It's just gonna be a great time."

Tarek and Heather announced their engagement back in July of 2020, after a year of officially dating.

In addition to preparing for the wedding, Tarek is returning to host Flipping 101 which follows him as he teaches the secrets to flipping houses.

Unfortunately, it was announced that production has been put on pause after Tarek tested positive for COVID-19 in a breakthrough case.

In lighter news, the show hopes to resume production as soon as possible.

"The biggest challenges are the rookie flippers not listening to me. The cities are way behind. The materials are way behind. The cost of production is way high. The cost of materials is way high. So, it's just like the perfect storm. But like anything in life, if you put your head down and you grind it out and you work hard and you believe, you can pull anything off."

While the show mainly focuses on Tarek helping others, upcoming episodes will also find him remodeling his own house with Heather and his kids.

"When you're remodeling your own house, it's definitely more challenging than remodeling an investment so we worked really hard on this house. About halfway through, the house flooded and we had to rip out all the work we did and start all over. So, the fans are gonna get to see it throughout the season."

Flipping 101 isn't the only HGTV show that Tarek is involved in. Flip or Flop finds Tarek and ex-wife Christina Haack putting aside their differences to continue to work on their home improvement show despite an on-set dispute.

"It was something that happened and we're both looking forward to it never happening again. I hope the best for Christina."

New episodes of Flipping 101 air Thursdays on HGTV and are available to stream on Discovery+.
