Classic Hollywood is back in Tarantino's biggest opening weekend ever!
In a world filled with reboots and sequels, Quentin Tarantino's newest film is a breathe of fresh air. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is love letter to the golden age of movies, telling the story of an aging actor with a career in decline. While Leonardo Dicaprio plays a 'has-been', the film's massive opening weekend shows that Leo is anything but!
This weekend was huge for the director as his film pulled in $40.4 million in just three days. This makes Once Upon a Time in Hollywood Tarantino's biggest weekend ever, beating Inglorious Bastards, which made $38 million opening weekend in 2009. While other movies like The Lion King and Spiderman: Far From Home made more, this is a great opening weekend for an R-rated film that isn't a franchise.
The 9th film from Quentin Tarantino features a star-studded cast, including Leonardo Dicaprio, Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, Al Pacino, and more. The red carpet event brought out even more stars to see the film, including Snoop Dogg, Rob Lowe, and Brittany Spears.
Other stars took to Twitter to tell what they thought of the film!

The film's stars on the red carpet knew the film's success was unavoidable, partially due to the film's director, Quentin Tarantino. Leonardo Dicaprio, who plays main character Rick Dalton, tells reporters:
"...No matter what [the audience] thinks of the movie, they know they're in for an incredibly unique experience every time they go, and that's why people keep coming back."
That's definitely the truth! With an incredible career of directing some of the most famous movies, Tarantino has made himself a household name. His cinematic style of directing is often imitated by other directors, and some scenes of his movies are so iconic that they've become relevant pop-culture references.
Tarantino speaks on his own success, saying:
"If you come to see one of my movies, you won't see images glazing over you. You're gonna have an interactive audience experience and too me, that's a good night at the movies".
When I make it out to see this, it will be a good night at the movies! Make sure to check out Once Upon a Time in Hollywood at your closest theater while you can.
