After twenty-three years, Steve Burton's marriage had ended.

The "General Hospital" actor confirmed in an Instagram story that he and his wife Sheree Burton have ended their relationship. He wrote,

"I wanted to clear something up. Sheree and I are separated."

Past the initial announcement, Steve also had a shocking allegation against his ex-wife. He claimed that while Sheree is pregnant, the child is not his. He continued,

"She recently announced that she's expecting her 4th child. The child is not mine."

Steve and Sheree married in 1999, and share three children together. The "Young and Restless" actor said that despite the split, they will be moving forward as co-parents. He finished his statement,

"We are still co-parenting our three beautiful kids. We would appreciate privacy at this time. Much luv, Steve."

Sheree has not publicly commented on Steve's announcement. In an interview with "Soaps in Depth," Steve had previously gushed about his relationship with his wife, saying,

"I have the greatest wife in the world. She's just an incredible mom and partner. I couldn't do any of the stuff I do without her. It's the cliché of, ‘Behind every man is a great woman.' She's everything."
