GLAAD Is Bringing Together Some of the Biggest Names and Organizations for 2021 Spirit Day

Get ready to go purple on October 21. GLAAD, the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, is gathering the biggest names and organizations in support of this year's Spirit Day.

GLAAD is celebrating LGBTQ History Month and also spreading awareness about their cause, fighting for a world that openly accepts and embraces those who are a part of the LGBTQA+ community. Heading the observation for Spirit Day, a day dedicated to spreading LGBTQ awareness about anti-bullying, GLAAD has just announced the lengthy, and certainly exciting lineup.

Each year, GLAAD brings together some of the world's most influential celebrities, media outlets, organizations, sports leagues, schools, faith institutions, and individuals to create a unified front against bullying. Millions across the globe will wear purple in solidarity with those in the LGBTQ community, embodying the color of 'spirit' on the rainbow flag.

Some notable celebrities who are participating in this year's Spirit Day include Chloe x Halee, Hailee Seinfeld, Sterling K. Brown, Andy Cohen, Ellen DeGeneres, Rachael Harris, Emily Osment, Olivia Ponton, and Kathy Ireland, among many, many others.

Ensembles from some LGTBQ supportive shows include the queens from RuPaul's Drag Race and the cast of This Is Us. On-air talent for Watch What Happens Live will also be sporting purple to demonstrate their advocacy.

Studios, networks, streaming services, and other media outlets joining in on the support include CNBC, Comedy Central, Entertainment Tonight, the MLB, MTV, and Paramount Network, also among many others.

Some substantial support is also stemming from allied organizations of the LGBTQ community: The National Black Justice Coalition, Trevor Project, NYC Pride, Transgender Law Center, and the UN Free & Equal Campaign.
