During these unprecedented times, it seems like there is a lot bad news all around us. Whether it be on the news or in the shows we watch, it has become increasingly difficult to find the good. That's why John Krasinski took matters into his own hands, when he decided to launch his youtube series Some Good News. The show highlights the many feel good stories that are so easy to miss in such chaotic times.
Krasinski posted ten episodes, one including an online graduation, a virtual prom for high school seniors who had to miss out on these experiences this year, and more. One episode even included the whole cast of The Officereuniting through Zoom. It was a show that truly brought people together and that is exactly what Krasinski emphasized in his final episode.
The finale featured the many fans of the show creating their own version of the broadcast from their homes. Krasinski also included several clips of homecomings from COVID-19 survivors, as well as a compilation of some of his favorite moments from the show. Krasinski even gave viewers a closer look into new Some Good Newsmerch, which included anything from T-shirts to bags and mugs.
When given the chance to say what the show meant to him, Krasinski said:
"I only deliver the good news. You are the good news. And that's why, every single week, if you can look past the goofy guy wearing half a suit, you'd see what resilience really looks like, what unbroken really means. And through witnessing each and every simple act of kindness and generosity, you would see what the true definition of good really is."
Some Good News will not be gone for too long! The show was recently bought by ViacomCBS. Although Krasinski will no longer be hosting the show, he will still be helping produce it and have some screen time. Stay tuned to hear more on when the show will be returning!
