From chips to pretzels, muffins and more, we all gave the snack cabinet way too much time over the last few months, but what about other "healthier" options?
When I was younger, my parents used to tell me "JOSH! The kitchen is closed…" And that is the same thing I am telling you now. Don't snack straight out of the bag! If you're binging Netflix like we all these last few months, the last thing you need is to take down an entire bag of chips or Cheetos sitting there with your hands all greasy and orange looking like Donald Trump's hands on a Tuesday.
As nerdy as this sounds, try pre portioning out your snacks in a bowl so you know exactly how much you're eating. And when you're done, that's it. You're done for the night. Choosing high protein and high fiber snacks is also super important! These will keep you fuller longer...plus they will give you the energy boost you need to power through those 2 hour zoom meetings you never wear pants to.
And here is a personal tip! I recently discovered Shrewd Food. From protein puffs to cookies to delicious chocolate dippers, you are sure to find a snack you'll LOVE with low calorie, low carb, high protein deliciousness for kids, parents, health nuts, and athletes. It also helps that they are gluten-free, and non-gmo of course! So you really don't feel bad about having the whole bag. This time, it is allowed.
Be smart with your choices. If the option is between a bag of chips or a piece of fruit, and you already had 4 snickers that day, pick the piece of fruit… or better yet a laxative. Just kidding. Make smart choices, you got this.
